Calling on Starbeck People to take Action on Litter- a plea from Christine Stewart Starbeck in Bloom

Yesterday Hookstone Cub Scouts .  joined Starbeck in Bloom to tackle the litter on the playing field behind the school.This is twelfth year that we have help  help and what did we find! Look at the pile that the council have moved away for us today ! Now  its your turn !Litter is a constant problem in all areas of the country but we in Starbeck have been working hard to eliminate it .These young Brownies are leading the way but they are not the only ones. We have many secret litter pickers-all our responsible dog walkers pick up litter on a daily basis ,many do it long before most of us are out of bed! One lady diligently cleans up St Johns empty site and one picks all of Bogs Lane every Monday morning! And yet despite our two Council Street Cleansers and all these dedicated volunteers we still have litter. Obviously the problem lies with those who DROP it . So come on Starbeck –think before you drop and if you do see it please pick it up !We have the most litter bins in the district so use them
